About the Artist
D Y Hide rediscovered her artistic Muse at the Titchfield Art and Craft Show in 2014, and has been exhibiting across the land ever since, becoming Secretary of the Association of Animal Artists in the closing weeks of 2016.

She is a full member of the Society of Feline Artists and has just had her work selected for the third successive year for the International UK Colour Pencil Society Show at the Menier Gallery in London. She thus can - and should! - write S.O.F.A. UKCPS after her name. She is also a Professional Associate Artist of the SAA.

A fully qualified and vastly experienced Advanced Skills Teacher of Art & Design, D Y Hide has a reputation for delivering highly enjoyable and informative workshops and demonstrations across the southern counties, working in a wide range of media from pencil to pastel to paint.

D Y Hide’s work will be on show during 2017 at an ever-widening circle of events, just some which include the Titchfield Art and Craft Show (where else?!), the Association of Animal Artists (AAA), The UK Colour Pencil Society (UKCPS) International Show, The Wildlife Art Society International (TWASI), Reading Contemporary Art Fair, and the two S.O.F.A shows. The list takes in at least three London galleries - the Menier, Llewellyn Alexander and Mall Galleries. She will also be manning a gazebo at the Loseley Garden Show as well as taking part in Hampshire Open Studios later in the year.

D Y Hide accepts commissions with a great big smile!

A commissioned work starts with a consultation between artist and buyer. Price is based on size, complexity and time needed for completion. In most cases, it's preferable to work from the artist's own photos and sketches. However, you are welcome to provide the photos yourself as long as they contain plenty of clearly defined detail. When both parties have agreed on what is required and how it will be completed, a deposit will secure your place on my waiting list.

To start the process, please leave a message on this site at 'Contact The Artist', or on my FB Page, or by clicking 'Request Custom Order' at my Etsy Shop (see below).

2014 - Current and Upcoming Shows

Article text
It's turning out to be a busy summer, but plenty of chances to see my work other than on this website!

'A Moment in Time' and 'Where Live the Pharaohs' were selected by NEWA (The National Exhibition of Wildlife Art) and are currently on view at the Gordale Garden Centre, in the Wirral, in Cheshire, until 3 August.

From mid July till December 2014, you can see my portraits of Dolores the Vulture, Frodo the Fish Eagle and Delta the Barn Owl in Feathers Restaurant @ The Hawk Conservancy Trust in Andover, Hants.

'At One With The World', 'Captivated', 'Snow Leopard' and 'A New Day Begins' are on show at the Society of Feline Artists @ the Llewellyn Alexander Gallery at The Cut in Waterloo, London. The SOFA show runs from 21 August until 19 September.

Running pretty much concurrently with that is MIWAS (Marwell International Wildlife Art Society) at Rookesbury Manor in Wickham, Hants, from 28 - 31st August where you will see 'Royalty Arrives', 'Trust', 'Prowl' and 'Safety in Numbers'. A number of other original artworks will be available for sale in the Art Market where you will also be able to purchase greetings cards and limited edition prints.

Enjoy your summer!
